Janelle in.....Hong Kong?

Well, my tour in Japan is over (if you can call it a tour, I barely noticed I was in Japan the entire time I was there). I got incredibly sick on Weds. after I left my host family's house (ironic) and spent Thursday sleeping in the hotel. What a waste. Friday I suffered my fever and sore throat to go with Aaron and Akko to the onsen at Hakone. It was a lot of fun, the hot steam did wonders for my throat. Akko and I got a kick out of the outdoor spa that was a giant iron tub with a giant stone phallus shooting water out at us...if we had remembered our cameras it would have been a lovely photo op. ;P The food at the onsen was nice, super Japanese style....meaning 15 dishes of bite sized morsels and shit I had never eaten before. ;P We also went to Kamakura and saw the giant buddha and went to the Hasekannon Temple...I saw Toyotomi Hideoyoshi's calligraphy in the museum and almost orgasmed on the spot. Yeah, I like historical stuff. ;P I also bought some stuff in Kamakura that seemed to border on the sacreligious--Buddha lollypops!

On Saturday I had a final dinner with my host family, it was also snowing and AMAZINGLY cold. I felt like shit and I worried over the fact that I wouldn't be able to enter Hong Kong with a fever.

On Sunday, we flew to Hong Kong on Cathay Pacific...I suppose it was nice, but the guy in front of me was pissing me off by pushing his seat down all the way, thus making it impossible for me to move. Blarg. Kenneth's parents picked us up and we had some nice soup by his house...yeah, that's all so far. Hong Kong looks just like I thought it would...somewhere between a giant Chinatown and Japan (but dirtier, taller, and more crowded.) Needless to say, I like it a lot. ;D I wonder if I'll get culture shock....I did just come back from Polite Land, afterall. ;P

Anyways, that's all. Two final notes. I passed JSP with straight As, first time I ever got an A in college courses. Hurray. Secondly, I passed the infrared body temperature scanner at Hong Kong airport! AHAHAH!

Yay, I snuck SARS into the SAR. ;P

Comments

1. Your hot, 2. Your smarter than i'll ever be, and so answer me this, why aren't you a Pulitzer prize winning adult film star yet? Or married? or wha... I don't get it, you are like a winning lottery ticket on the ground nobody is bothering to pick-up, so yeah, I guess I can only hope you catch a gust o wind at some point and reveal your winning numbers to the rest of the world rather than keeping them flat against the cold-cement of this website. holla.

And no way, HK in my experience is more like New York than anything else...

Hong Kong ownzorz. Keep an eye out for the Evo/WRX street battles after midnight.

Hong Kong was like New York... now it's just China in an over-populated city. I was sick the whole time I was there last summer -- that's why I'm never going back again, argh! Don't use the public restrooms, not even the ones in the malls & department stores! But if you're planning on shopping a lot (which you will, I'm sure) Moiselle is the store where I got my dress for the last AX Prom.

I've only been to post-97 HK. Well, I've been there like, six frickin' times. I'd totally go again, definitely for the cheap software and that one pretty kick-ass nightclub Lost City. Then again, I'm just a dumb gwailo from Miami with a glass-covered pool.

I've spent two months out of every year in Hong Kong since I was... I don't know, 6 or 7 (give or take a few summers when I went somewhere else). But after SARS broke out I haven't had an urge to go back again. Although I love the food and shopping cannot be surpassed (but I'm biased so I have to say Taiwan's food is way better, haha!). My mom & brother just can't get enough of Shenzen -- the counterfeit heaven.

Shanghai was wicked cool also.

What-the-fuck-ever. Hong Kong is just a high-tech ghetto. Miami owns you all. VIVA MIAMI!!!

Kaworu--you are too easily amused. Janelle--stay out of Causeway Bay, you'll end up missing Japan if you hang out there too long.

hi janelle

it's steven. your pen pal from california. 6 months ago i moved to japan. then, you moved to japan.

ironically, despite being half a world away, we now lived much closer to each other than we had in cali. i thought this was an awesome coincidence so i said, 'let's meet.'

if me and some friends were doing something i thought you'd enjoy, i would invite you. not only did you never invite me to do nothing with your friends, you didn't even bother responding to MY offers to do stuff with MY friends.

my whole attitude was,'treat people the way i would like them to treat me.' what was your attitude? i have no clue. you never explained.

which is weird because back in january, YOU were the one who first emailed ME with fan letters and such, all trying to be pen pals with me.

now you are back in the u.s.a. i guess. well, good riddance. you selfish immature cowardly stuck-up doofus.

sorry, i'm really not good at flames.

I was bored and in the middle of moving and I don't want to pack stuff up right now and now I'm here after using too many "and"s in one sentence. Do people speak enough languages here? It's like JSP all over again ;P

I just realized J-kun is a bad name for me. You know like a million J-people. But I think you know who I am. Hmm... or maybe just one J-person who posts a million times.

It's a little late, but I think I found that Ayu hairstyle. http://www.jpop.com/jforum/uploads/post-30-1070880877.jpg
