Well, today is the official end of JSP and my homestay. I'm not leaving until Sunday, but I came to school to send off my friends...I didn't make a lot of close friends here, but I did make friends I want to keep in touch with. I'll miss my host family, they were really good people...really hardworking busy people who fed me really well ;P By the way, I bought my host mom a cashmere scarf since its insanely cold in Japan without that beautiful thing called central heating and my host dad a set of beer glasses in this nice brown box. He definately liked the beer glasses...but he definately likes beer. ;P
I still have some odds and ends to pack up before I leave the house at two-ish. We're going to be staying in Shinjuku (again.)
I'm going to a hot springs with Aaron, Akko, and Kenneth on Friday. Its in Hakone which is supposedly really beautiful and also really cold...that's cool....
I wonder when I'm going to come back to Japan? Maybe soon....maybe not.
I just found out the other day that Saddam was discovered. Its not really as big news here as I'm imagining it is in the U.S. Oh definately, its headline news. But the rest of the news reporting day isn't very dedicated to it. In fact, it took me a second to realize what the hell the news was talking about when they were showing this scruffy-ass old man [Kenneth: He looks like Moses!] having his mouth checked on TV (I caught the tail end of it)...I've only seen news about it once on TV (and I watch the morning and evening news.) Interesting stuff. The only thing I was really thinking is why the fuck was Saddam stupid enough to stay in Iraq? Was he gunna plan to try and take over again? Jesus christ man, if I were him I woulda run to the south pacific and had coconut drinks all day long. My host father asked if they were gunna bring him to the United States and hang him. I delicately explained in Japanese that you can't just DO that and he would probably instead be tried for war crimes in either the International Criminal Court, or maybe in Iraq. Being in Japan has been like being in an international news bubble for me....and for some reason, I like it that way. -.-:
Anyways, I think my English has gone down the tube.
