Well, today was my last final...I could have done better, but um, yeah. I don't know, I just couldn't study last night. I did much better on my speech than I did on the written part, I think. Now I have one more day of class and that is going to be spent writing Christmas cards, apparently! Now I just have to write that closing speech I'm going to give during our closing ceremony....
Kenneth is coming today and I can't keep from being very excited...Its basically the start of my "Fun Time" from now until January 6. Yeah, some ass is gunna make a comment about how they wish they had the luxury to waste as much time as me. Yeah, I would too if I didn't. ;P Fuck, I deserve to have a long vacation when I consider what sort of hellish next semester I'm going to have at USC. To anyone who may go to USC in the future: do not save all your gen ed classes for the last semester. Yes, they are generally easier--they also all require discussion sessions which means you have TWICE as many classes than you normally would. ;P Well, I should have thoroughly thought that over when I first came to USC as a fresh-faced transfer. Speaking of USC, their football team is #1 in the country. What does that mean? Nothing really, but I'm fucking glad! ;D I FINALLY have school pride...
Oh, for some completely arbitrary reason I started a xanga. Strange that I resisted the urge to start a livejournal for years, but started a xanga one. Oh well. It has absolutely ZERO use. I'm currently using it as a Japanese practice journal and a mini-style blog... Its here, if you are interested: my new xanga thing.
Question: If you were hosting a foreign student what would you want her to give you as a Christmas present? Things to note, you own and run a restaurant, like cooking and foreign recipes, archery, and mountain climbing. Musically, you like enka. You have absolutely NO room for vases, house decorations, or even wallhangings.
Posted by Janelle at December 10, 2003 07:32 PMA really nice, sturdy pair of shit kickers. Since they're avid mountain climbers, a solid yet comfy pair of boots would be more than thoughtful.
Posted by: Julian at December 10, 2003 11:06 PMSexual favors.
Posted by: Chad at December 11, 2003 02:16 AMDude, you are way out of your element.
Posted by: Julian at December 11, 2003 10:03 AMThose puffy down-stuffed jackets. Everyone should look like warm, colourful marshmallows during winter!
Posted by: Kourin at December 11, 2003 12:55 PMdon't be too mindful of jackass comments. most arise from mere jealousy. you know it in you that you earned your way today (by studying, working hard) and not just some bimbo blond who thinks she deserves to be lavished with attention and a lot of money/time to spend. you're much different than that.
Posted by: alice at December 11, 2003 06:31 PMTomoe, you are way out of your element.
Posted by: Julian at December 11, 2003 07:40 PMIf they like cooking and foreign foods, why not a couple cook books with foreign foods, like a greek one, italian, french, whatever. :)
Posted by: Jennifer at December 12, 2003 04:20 PMmy element is earth. you, sir, are out of your league... try playing at a different ball park. I think Janelle is way too concerned... but the truth is people will not stop making bitter comments and judgements because of something they can't have. and knowing that one earned her way there, rather than deserving it, are two completely different ball games. oh, btw, I gave my host family 40000 yen wrapped in red envelope Chinese style.
Posted by: alice at December 12, 2003 06:05 PMChill out girl. I was merely quoting "The Big Lebowski." Janelle totally deserved where she's at, with her beautiful spirit and her beautiful intelligence. She's gonna change people's lives for the good one day.
Posted by: Julian at December 12, 2003 07:02 PMwell, I don't think anyone "deserves" anything... you're totally missing my point.
Posted by: alice at December 12, 2003 08:44 PMWhat's the point, Alice?
Posted by: Julian at December 13, 2003 12:41 AMYou're obviously not a golfer.
Posted by: Julian at December 13, 2003 12:42 AMQuick warning: I accidentally typed bishounen.com into my browser, and when it came up, it had been hacked by some Brazillian guy. Maybe he's targeting sites with "bishounen" in the name or something. You never know. Just- y'know- double check your firewall device or whatever the situation calls for.
Or something. I'm no good at the whole magic typey laser box thing.
